1. Pressure effect

3.Temperature influence
Rapid changes in temperature can also lead to seal failure, in the temperature changes very quickly, the rubber gasket coefficient of linear expansion and elastic deformation and sealing preload will not match, so that the sealing preload is reduced, resulting in the device bearing pressure than the rated design pressure is much lower.

In process industry equipment, plate heat exchanger is a kind of equipment with high safety requirements, and when the gasket is damaged, the external drip leakage is visible. Plate heat exchangers all have slight dripping leaks to begin with, and in process equipment with high pressure shocks, larger leaks can occur due to gasket damage. Under strong pressure shocks, the gasket can sometimes be moved out of the correct installation position of the plate heat exchanger, and in severe cases, even dislodged from the heat exchanger. In this case, immediately stop the work of the equipment, so that the heat exchanger in the absence of pressure to cool down to room temperature. If the gasket has been deformed under the action of the pressure shock, it cannot be restored to its original shape and position and has to be replaced with a new one. If no spare gasket is available, remove the plate pieces on both sides of the damaged gasket from the entire plate heat exchanger set, and then inspect the gasket bonding surface of the remaining plate heat exchanger plates. Assemble the plate pieces after extracting the damaged gasket. The plate heat exchanger unit is then purchased with a new rubber gasket and the plates are added to achieve the original heat exchange capacity. The process of disassembling the plate heat exchanger should pay attention to the A-value, which is the clamping size.
