pasteuriztion for milk plate heat exchanger

Apr 09, 2023

Material Used in Sterilization:

Plate heat exchangers are used in the sterilization of milk due to their efficient heat transfer capabilities and easy cleaning structure. The plates of the heat exchanger are made of high-quality stainless steel that resists corrosion and is easy to clean. the gasket of the heat exchanger are made by FKM material or Food grade NBR ,Food grade EPDM with high temperaure resisitance and corrosion resisitance,The plate heat exchanger is also designed to withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for use in high-temperature pasteurization.

The sterilization process involves heating the milk to a high temperature, usually around 72°C, for a specified period. This high temperature kills most harmful bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that may be present in the milk.

Process of Cooling:

After the milk is sterilized, it needs to be cooled quickly to ensure that any remaining harmful bacteria do not grow back. Then we need to cool the milk below 4°C by using the chilled water through the plate heat exchanger.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the use of plate heat exchangers in high-temperature pasteurization is an effective way to sterilize milk and prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. The materials used in plate heat exchangers are durable and resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for use in the food industry. The plate heat exchanger's ability to efficiently transfer heat and cool milk quickly ensures that the milk is safe for consumption.
