Three major factors affecting the seal
1, pressure

The instantaneous pressure peaks caused by shocks are often about two times higher than the normal operating pressure.

The above three factors are the main reasons for seal failure, seal failure occurs, should be investigated as soon as possible to solve the problem, so as to avoid unnecessary losses.

In the process industry equipment, plate heat exchanger is a high security requirements of the equipment, when the gasket is damaged, the appearance of external drip leakage is visible.

Plate heat exchangers are known to drip slightly at first, and in process equipment with high pressure impacts, larger leaks can occur due to gasket damage.

Under strong pressure shocks, the gasket can sometimes be moved out of the correct installation position of the plate heat exchanger, and in severe cases, even dislodged from the heat exchanger.

In this case, immediately stop the work of the equipment, so that the heat exchanger in the absence of pressure to cool down to room temperature.

If the gasket has been deformed under the action of the pressure shock, it cannot be restored to its original shape and position and has to be replaced with a new one.

If no spare gasket is available, remove the plate pieces on both sides of the damaged gasket from the entire plate heat exchanger set, and then inspect the gasket bonding surface of the remaining plate heat exchanger plates. Assemble the plate pieces with the damaged gasket extracted for a temporary emergency.

Then purchase a new rubber gasket and add the plates to achieve the original heat transfer capacity.

During disassembly and assembly of the plate heat exchanger, pay attention to the A-value, which is the clamping size.
